Google Chrome impacting auto-complete in EasyRx

We’ve had more and more reports of auto-complete issues reported from the field. For example, the incorrect information entered on the external patient ID in patient information and on the iTero Case Order ID on the iTero integration. After research, we’ve realized the overwhelming majority of customers reporting the issue are running Google Chrome.
Given that we set autocomplete on these fields and the overwhelming majority of the autofill’s are Chrome users, this led us to believe that this is not a bug in EasyRx, but the policy of Chrome with respect to autocomplete, and that there's nothing we can do about it short of randomizing our field names (and there's no guarantee that will work either). The problem is Google believes that the user's browser settings should take priority over the autocomplete attribute in the web application, and they ignore the attribute.
Google's answer is users should disable autofill and autocomplete in their Settings if they don't want it active. Google believes web applications, like EasyRx, should not be able to control whether or not fields are auto-filled or completed. Of course, this is not a great answer – auto-complete is a very handy feature most of the time; we’re sure many will not want to turn off auto-complete in your browser settings. This message serves as heads up -- be aware some fields in EasyRx may auto-complete with the incorrect information – especially iTero Case Order and external patient ID inpatient information if you are running Chrome.
Thanks, The EasyRx Team
