Phonetic Patient Search

Phonetic Patient Search

When you search for a patient from the Order list, you will have a higher likelihood of finding orders even when the patient’s name was entered with a misspelling.  Order Search now uses a Phonetic analyzer to search names and will return matches that sound the same.  See the example below.    The Patient Name is Buddy the Elf, and user entered Buddie Elph in the search.   Two orders were returned because the names in the order sound similar to the term used in the search.

You can still add additional search terms like Shade, Product Name and tooth number when searching.   Just add the Additional terms using the + sign.

Example:  Buddie Elph+PFM+A2
