Silent Printing Setup In VisualDLP

Silent Printing Setup In VisualDLP

Introduction

Silent Printing in VisualDLP allows each user to configure their default printer, page size, orientation and other settings related to printing.   Once configured, Silent Printing allows users to print Invoice, Work Ticket, Custom Reports, Account Adjustment/Payment and Statements without having to select the printer and print settings each time.

Note(s)
  1. QZ Tray must be installed once on each computer.
  2. QZ Tray Support settings must be configured for each user who needs to print on each computer.
  3. If the computer is transferred from one location to another, such that it is on a different Network or WiFi, the settings can be easily reassigned while on each network.
  4. If the laptop connects to the same VPN which is accessed from the multiple locations, it is unlikely the settings will need to be reset

QZ Tray Application

1) install the QZ Tray print application.  This application communicates with your printers and VisualDLP.
For current system requirements for QZ Tray, see this link.  https://qz.io/wiki/faq#minimum-system-requirements
QZ Tray can be downloaded here: https://qz.io/download

Note: you may be required to download the Java Runtime Engine.  You may download it here:

2) After you have installed QZ Tray, make sure you see it running in your system tray.  You can manually launch the QZ Tray application if you want. However, you can right click on the green QZ Tray Printer icon to set it to automatically start when you start your computer.  This will typically assure that the application is running and ready to communicate between VisualDLP and your Printer as needed.

3)   You must re-load VisualDLP after starting QZ Tray.  You can do this by refreshing the browser page.

Configuring QZ Tray Support within VisualDLP

1. After logging in to VisualDLP as the User who needs to print Invoices, Statements, or other forms do the following:
  1. From VDLP Launch Pad, access the Order Management module.
  2. From the Order Management menu, click on Settings -> My User Settings
  3. Click to Enable QZ Tray Support and then click Connect to QZ Tray.

2. Once QZ Tray Support is enabled, you can now access individual tabs to configure default printing settings for your Invoice, Work Ticket,  Custom Reports, Account Adjustment/Payment and Statements.

3. Once your print settings are configured on each tab, click SAVE.

If you ever need to change to a new default printer, or another printer while on a different network, return to My User Settings and easily make your changes.
